Imidacloprid + Pyrethroid Insecticides

Mixing Imidacloprid with pyrethroid insecticides (e.g., Cypermethrin, Beta-cypermethrin, Lambda-cyhalothrin) is the most common combination. This mixture can be used to control a variety of pests and has excellent effects on agricultural pests such as aphids, thrips, and psyllids.

This mixture is effective against moderately resistant aphids, thrips, and whiteflies, and also provides some control against lygus bugs, green leafhoppers, cabbage caterpillars, and small brown planthoppers. However, this mixture is not recommended for pests with high levels of resistance.

Imidacloprid + Abamectin

This mixture is primarily used to control pests such as aphids, spider mites, psyllids, and rust mites, and is mostly applied in orchards.

Mixing Abamectin with Imidacloprid not only broadens the insecticidal spectrum but also creates a synergistic effect, allowing it to control highly resistant pests like pear psyllids. The insecticidal spectra of Abamectin and Imidacloprid are complementary, providing significant practical value in agricultural production.

The combination of Abamectin and Imidacloprid results in faster knock-down action, longer residual activity, and more pronounced efficacy. Furthermore, mixing pesticides reduces the likelihood of pests developing resistance and provides control over both adults and eggs. The primary targets of this mixture remain small pests (thrips, whiteflies, aphids, etc.), with any control of tobacco budworms or mites being incidental. It is mainly used for preventative purposes or for the early control of aphids, thrips, and the like.

Imidacloprid + Pyriproxyfen

Pyriproxyfen is an ovicide effective against the eggs of all pests except mites. Crucially, Pyriproxyfen is very effective against scale insects. The combination of Imidacloprid and Pyriproxyfen has a very broad control spectrum, offering good efficacy against aphids, psyllids, silverleaf whiteflies, thrips, greenhouse whiteflies, and scale insects. Its ovicidal action also provides good preventive effects against Lepidopteran caterpillars.
