Products Applications

Application of sodium humate in aquaculture:

1. Carbon supplementation. There are relatively few studies on the application of sodium humate in carbon supplementation, but some studies believe that sodium humate has a high content of carbon and can be used as a carbon source in ponds.

2. Water purification. There are many holes in the structure of sodium humate, and it has strong adsorption, so it can be used as a water purification product. In addition, due to the structure of sodium humate, it is also conducive to the reproduction of beneficial bacteria, and its own release of oxygen can inhibit some harmful bacteria.

3. Shading effect. This is used more often. It is often used when there is moss growing in the pond. After using sodium humate, a layer of soy sauce color is formed on the water surface to block part of the sunlight from reaching the bottom, causing organisms that need sunlight to grow (such as moss) to die naturally.

4. Chelating heavy metals. When sodium humate is used, it will adsorb metal substances in the water.

5. The effect of improving the bottom. In aquaculture, as more feed is used, more ammonia accumulates at the bottom of the pond, and more ammonia sources are generated, which causes more water pollution and obstruction of ammonia circulation. Therefore, sodium humate is added to the pond to reduce the source of ammonia through adsorption.

 

Practical application of sodium humate in aquaculture:

1. Inhibit the growth of upper algae. In aquaculture, once the harmful algae (such as blue algae) in the upper layer grow excessively, it will cause great harm to shrimp farming. At this time, we can use the shading effect of sodium humate to inhibit the growth of upper algae (cyanobacteria) and promote the growth of benthic algae (such as diatoms) to regulate water quality.

2. Kill moss. When the water is clear, sunlight can directly penetrate into the bottom of the pond, and some organisms that need sunlight to grow (commonly moss) can grow easily. At the same time, white shrimp is also a benthic animal. Direct sunlight on the bottom of the pond will affect the living environment of shrimp. Therefore, after using sodium humate, the "care" of sunlight on the bottom of the pond can be reduced, causing the moss to die slowly. Finally, we should also use probiotics or bottom modification drugs to decompose the residues after the moss dies to avoid harming the water quality.

3. Provide a long-term carbon source. We all know that in aquaculture, the carbon-nitrogen ratio is a critical factor. Maintaining a certain proportion of carbon-nitrogen ratio can be beneficial to the stability of pond water quality. However, due to excessive nitrogen input sources (mainly feed, especially in the later stage of aquaculture), it is easy to cause the carbon-nitrogen ratio of the pond to be unbalanced.
