In agricultural production, in order to increase the fruit setting rate and improve crop yield and quality, chlorfenuron is often used. Used well, it can not only promote fruit setting and expansion, but also increase yield and improve quality. However, if used improperly, it is likely not only to fail to achieve the expected results, but also to produce hollow, cracked, deformed and other adverse consequences. Today we will talk about the application technology of clofenuron.

1. About chlorfenuron
Chloropyridon is also called pyridoxuron, ureatrione, clopiperuron, KT-30, CPPU, etc. It is a plant growth regulator with the effect of furfuryl aminopurine. It is also the synthetic furfuryl aminopurine with the highest activity in promoting cell division. Its biological activity is about 10 times that of benzylaminopurine, and it can promote crop growth, increase fruit setting rate, promote fruit enlargement and preservation, etc. It can be applied to various crops such as cucumbers, watermelons, tomatoes, eggplants, grapes, apples, pears, citrus, loquats, kiwis, etc. It is especially suitable for melons, underground rhizomes and fruit crops.

2. Product function
(1) Promote crop growth. Chlorfenuron has cell division activity and can affect the development of plant buds and accelerate cell mitosis. After application, it can increase the number of cells, promote the horizontal and vertical growth of organs, promote cell enlargement and differentiation, promote the growth of crop stems, leaves, roots, and fruits, delay leaf aging, keep green for a long time, and enhance chlorophyll synthesis. , improve photosynthesis, promote thicker plant stems, enlarged leaves, and darker and greener leaves.
(2) Increase fruit setting rate and promote fruit enlargement. Chlorfenuron can not only break the top advantage of crops and promote the germination of lateral buds, but also can penetrate the differentiation of buds, promote the formation of lateral branches, increase the number of branches, increase the number of flowers, and improve pollen fertilization. It can also induce parthenocarpy, stimulate ovary enlargement, prevent fruits and flowers from falling off, and increase fruit setting rate. It can also effectively promote the growth and enlargement of fruits in the later period, promote protein synthesis, increase sugar content, increase fruit yield, improve quality, and mature earlier for market.

(3) Chlofenuron can promote the growth of plant callus and also has a preservation effect. It can be used to prevent the degradation of vegetable chlorophyll and extend the preservation period.
3. Applicable crops
Chlofenuron can be used in almost all crops, such as field crops such as wheat, rice, peanuts, and soybeans, solanaceous vegetables such as tomatoes, eggplants, and peppers, and melons such as cucumbers, bitter melons, winter melons, pumpkins, watermelons, and melons, potatoes, taro, ginger, onions and other underground rhizomes, citrus, grape, apple, lychee, longan, loquat, bayberry, mango, banana, pineapple, strawberry, pear, peach, plum, apricot, cherry, pomegranate, walnut, jujube, hawthorn and other fruit trees, ginseng, astragalus, platycodon, bezoar, coptis, angelica, chuanxiong, rehmannia, atractylodes, white peony root, poria, japonicus, notoginseng, wolfberry and other medicinal materials, as well as flowers, horticulture and other landscape greening plants.

4. How to use
(1) Used to increase fruit setting rate. For watermelons, muskmelons, cucumbers and other melons, you can spray the melon embryos or apply 20-35 times of 0.1% soluble liquid on the fruit stems on the day or one day before and after the female flowers bloom. It can prevent difficult fruit setting and melon formation caused by insect pollination and improve fruit setting rate.
(2) Used to promote fruit enlargement. For apples, citrus, peaches, pears, plums, lychees, longans, etc., you can use 5-20mg/kg clofenuron solution, soak the fruit stems and spray the young fruits 10 days after blooming, which can increase the fruit setting rate. After the second physiological fruit drop, spray 0.1% clofenuron 1500 times to 2000 times, and apply it together with foliar fertilizer high in phosphorus and potassium or high in calcium and boron. Spray a second time 20 to 30 days apart, and the effect of two consecutive sprays is significant.

(3) Used for preservation. After picking strawberries, you can spray or soak them with 0.1% soluble liquid 100 times, dry and preserve them, which can extend the storage period.
When chlorfenuron is mixed with auxins, gibberellins or brassinoids, or their mixture products are used, the effect is generally better than using a single agent. However, it must be carried out under the guidance of agricultural technicians or before testing to avoid losses caused by improper use.
Precautions
(1) When using chlorfenuron, water and fertilizer management must be done well. Regulators only regulate the growth of crops and have no nutritional content. After using clofenuron, it promotes cell division and cell enlargement of crops, and the plant's consumption of nutrients will also increase accordingly. Therefore, sufficient nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers must be supplemented to ensure the supply of nutrients. At the same time, calcium, magnesium and other elements should be appropriately supplemented to prevent undesirable conditions such as cracked fruit and rough skin.
(2) When using chlorfenuron, strictly follow the instructions for use. Do not increase the concentration and frequency of use at will. If the concentration is too high, hollow or deformed fruits may occur. At the same time, it will also affect the coloring and taste of the fruit. Especially when using it on old, weak, diseased plants or weak branches where the nutrient supply cannot be guaranteed normally, the dosage should be reduced, and it is best to thin the fruit appropriately to achieve a balanced nutrient supply.
(3) Chlorfenuron is volatile and flammable and should be stored in a sealed store in a cool, dry and ventilated place. It should not be left for a long time after dilution with water. It is best to mix it up and use it immediately. Leaving it for a long time will lead to a reduction in efficacy and it is not resistant to rainwater. If it rains within 12 hours after treatment, it needs to be treated again.
