Basic information
Main dosage form: Diquat 200g/L, 20% aqueous solution.
Action characteristics
Non-selective contact herbicide. Slightly conductive, it can be quickly absorbed by the green tissues of plants. In the green tissues of plants, bipyridyl compounds are inhibitors of photosynthetic electron transfer. Under light induction, the reduced bipyridyl compounds are quickly oxidized in the presence of oxygen to form hydrogen peroxide. The accumulation of this substance destroys the plant cell membrane and makes the drug-receiving parts wither and yellow.
However, the product cannot penetrate mature bark and has basically no destructive effect on underground rhizomes.
Control targets
Suitable for weeding in plots dominated by broadleaf weeds. It can also be used as a desiccant for seed plants, and can also be used as a drying agent for crops such as potatoes, cotton, soybeans, flax, sunflowers, corn, and sorghum.
When dealing with mature crops, the remaining green parts and weeds dry up quickly, and they can be harvested early with less seed loss. Moreover, the harvested seeds are cleaner and drier, reducing the cost of cleaning and drying after harvesting.
Usage
(1) Rice. In the late stage of rice maturity, 5 to 7 days before harvest, use 150 to 200 mL of 200 g/L Diquat per mu, add 25 to 50 kg of water, and spray on the stems and leaves to accelerate rice withering and drying.
(2) Potatoes. 10 to 15 days before potato harvest, use 200 to 250 mL of 200 g/L Diquat per mu, add 25 to 50 kg of water, and spray on the stems and leaves to remove potato withered leaves.
(3) Winter rapeseed (no-tillage). 1 to 3 days before transplanting no-till winter rapeseed, when weeds are in the 2 to 5 leaf stage, use 150 to 200 mL of 200 g/L Diquat per mu, add 30 to 50 kg of water, and spray on the stems and leaves to control annual weeds.
(4) Non-arable land. After all weeds emerge and grow vigorously, use 300-350mL of 20% diquat solution per mu, add 25-30kg of water, and spray on the stems and leaves in a directional manner.
Precautions
(1) Diquat is a non-selective herbicide. Do not spray directly on crop seedlings, otherwise it will cause serious pesticide damage to the crop parts.
(2) Do not mix with compounds such as alkaline xanthate wetting agents and alkali metal salts of hormone-type herbicides.
