How to use Thidiazuron?

Mechanism of action

 

Thidiazuron (TDZ) has extremely strong biological activity, and its ability to induce plant cell division and tissue healing is hundreds of times higher than that of general cytokinins. It can relieve gene repression, open the codes of DNA and RNA, trigger the synthesis of related enzymes and proteins, coordinate the secretion of plant endogenous hormones, and induce the expression of plant SAR (systemic resistance) genes.

 

Thidiazuron (TDZ) can be widely used in various vegetables, can protect flowers and fruits, reduce fruit drop, and solve the problem of difficult fruit setting in protected vegetables; can greatly increase yield; can improve the quality and commerciality of vegetables; can enhance its disease resistance and stress resistance, and has a certain preventive effect on certain pests of protected vegetables; is environmentally friendly and belongs to green pesticides.

Applications

 

Thidiazuron (TDZ) is a plant growth regulator with dual effects of auxin and cytokinin. It is widely used as a defoliant in cotton cultivation in my country, and as a fruit setting agent in melon cultivation to replace pollination. Thidiazuron preparations have the following effects on vegetables:

 

1. Cucurbitaceae

 

(1) Zucchini: Spray the whole plant during the fruit setting period to replace artificial pollination and no longer use 2,4-D or anti-drop agent to spot flowers. It promotes fruit setting, prevents fruit rot, grows fast, has no deformities, is fresh and tender, has good commercial quality, and can also enhance its disease resistance, greatly reduce the occurrence of gray mold, and increase production by about 70%.

 

(2) Cucumber: It can improve the survival rate of grafting and transplanting, enhance its disease resistance, and promote growth; it can promote fruit setting and reduce fruit rot caused by gray mold and high and low temperatures. The melons develop quickly, are fresh and tender, and have good quality. They can eliminate the flower topping caused by low temperature. When mixed with fungicides, they can improve the fungicidal effect, greatly reduce the use of pesticides, and save costs.

 

(3) Melon: It can improve the survival rate of transplantation, promote growth and development, and improve disease resistance. Spraying female flowers can promote fruit setting, increase the weight of single fruit, and increase the total sugar content. If the young fruit is skewed during development, it can be corrected by applying it. Increase production by more than 50%.

 

2. Solanaceae

 

(1) Tomato: It can improve the survival rate of transplantation and promote rooting and growth. Continuous use after the second bunch of fruit is set can promote fruit growth, reduce deformed fruit, eliminate hollow fruit, increase single fruit weight, make the fruit size uniform, mature early, and have good commercial quality. It can also improve disease resistance (such as early blight and late blight) and inhibit the occurrence of lateral buds.

 

(2) Eggplant: It can improve the survival rate of transplantation and promote rooting and growth. If used after fruit setting, it can prevent flower and fruit drop, increase single fruit weight, reduce deformed fruit, make eggplant grow fast and tender, increase single fruit weight, and increase yield by more than 30%.

 

(3) Pepper: This product has a particularly significant effect on pepper. It can improve transplant survival rate, promote rooting and growth, and improve disease resistance. If used after the initial flowering and fruit setting, it can inhibit leggy growth, increase fruit setting rate, promote rapid growth of peppers, increase single pepper weight, and increase yield by more than 50%.

 

3. Leguminosae (beans, cowpeas, snow peas): If used during the seedling stage, it can promote rooting and growth. If used after the initial flowering, it can promote fruit setting, rapid development of siliques, and significant enlargement and growth effects. It can also delay aging and inhibit the occurrence of leaf spot disease.

 

4. Leek: If used after leeks emerge from the soil, it can promote their rapid growth, thicken stems, make leaves broad, thick, tender, and have no dry tips. It can increase yield by 100% and also has an anti-leek maggot effect.

 

5. Celery: This product is particularly effective on celery. Use it after transplanting and seedling acclimatization. It can make celery grow faster, contain less cellulose in the stem, be fresh and tender, without yellow leaves and rotten heart. Almost no disease, increase yield by more than 50%.

 

6. Garlic: Soak the seeds and plant them, and they will grow quickly and without disease. Use it after the next year, and the garlic stalks will be tender, thick and long, and the garlic will be large, and you can get a good harvest of both garlic stalks and garlic.

This product has a stronger promoting effect on the growth of green onions, potatoes, day lilies, strawberries, etc., and the effect can reach a significant level. It is also widely applicable to various vegetables.
