1. Indolebutyric Acid (IBA)

 

Indolebutyric acid is a highly effective rooting agent, especially suitable for woody plants and varieties that are difficult to root. Its mechanism of action is to stimulate plant cell division and promote the formation of root primordia. IBA promotes rapid rooting; new roots are usually observed 7-10 days after application.

 

Application Method:

 

Soaking Method: Soak the base of the cuttings in a 50-100 mg/L IBA solution for 2-4 hours, then insert the cuttings into the soil.

 

Quick Dipping Method: Quickly dip the base of cuttings in a high-concentration (500-1000 mg/L) IBA solution for 5-10 seconds. Suitable for large-scale seedling production.

Low Concentration Soaking: Soak cuttings in a 10-20 mg/L NAA solution for 6-12 hours.

 

Compound Formulation: Mix with IBA in a 1:1 ratio (e.g., 50 mg/L each) to significantly accelerate rooting.

 

Precautions: NAA is sensitive to young shoots; avoid prolonged contact with high concentrations.

 

3. ABT Rooting Powder

 

ABT rooting powder is a widely used compound rooting agent in China. Its main components include IBA and NAA, with added vitamins, sugars, and other auxiliary ingredients. Its advantages lie in its wide applicability, rapid rooting speed, and high-quality root system.

Usage Methods:

4. Alginic Acid Rooting Agent

Although the rooting speed is slightly slower than chemically synthesized agents (approximately 10-15 days), it is highly safe and can improve the soil environment.

 

Instructions for Use:

 

Follicular Spray: Dilute 500-1000 times. After spraying, promote root growth through photosynthesis.

 

Root Drenching: After transplanting, drench the roots with a 200-300 times dilution.

 

5. Folk Remedies for Rapid Rooting

 

Willow Twig Extract: Willow bark contains natural salicylic acid. Soak fresh willow twigs for 24 hours and use as a rooting solution; economical and environmentally friendly.

 

Honey Water: Honey water diluted 10 times contains sugar and enzymes, which can promote callus formation.

 

6. Precautions

 

Concentration Control: Chemical rooting agents must be strictly diluted according to the instructions. Excessive dosage will inhibit growth.

Environmental Requirements: Maintain suitable humidity (above 80%) and temperature (20-25℃) to enhance the effect.
