What is Fluazinam used for?

Speaking of fluazinam, I immediately felt a magical breath coming. Because it can kill bacteria and mites, and the effect is very good, but there are some places to pay attention to in its use.

Fluazinam not only has a broad spectrum of fungal diseases and outstanding effects, but can also be used to prevent and treat diseases such as blight, brown spot disease, and root root disease. In use, it is gradually found that it has a very good effect on red spider mites.

It is no longer a legend that Fluazinam can prevent and treat red spider mites. It has been verified in many regions and crops.

Because it has a short use time (it has only been widely used since 2018), has a unique mechanism of action on red spider mites (penetrating the body of red spiders to interfere with the nervous system), and has a certain preventive effect on adults, larvae, nymphs, and eggs of red spiders, it has become one of the first choice drugs for red spiders.

fluazinam applications

In addition to controlling red spider mites and some common anthracnose, Fluazinam is also effective against some diseases that are difficult to control in agricultural production. For example, fluazinam is used to control clubroot of leafy vegetables, sclerotinia of some crops, gray mold and late blight, and the control effect feedback is very good.

Five major features of Fluazinam

1. Unique mechanism of action

Currently, fluazinam is the only mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation uncoupler, with no cross-resistance to existing agents, and its bactericidal speed and activity are ahead of similar compounds.

Fluazinam has multiple action sites on ATP synthase, which is controlled by multiple genes, and the risk of resistance is extremely low. No resistance has been reported so far.

2. Fluazinam is the most active compound among the current broad-spectrum fungicides

By acting on multiple specific sites of ATP synthase at the tail end of the respiratory chain in mitochondria, the activity exceeds the single-site inhibition of similar compounds, and the contact killing effect is outstanding. Taking gray mold as an example, the antibacterial activity of fluazinam against gray mold is 438~3866 times that of the current mainstream ingredients.

3. It has therapeutic, eradication and super protective effects

Fluazinam is basically non-systemic, so it is positioned as a protective fungicide abroad. However, the test results show that fluazinam not only has an outstanding protective effect, but also has a certain therapeutic effect in the later stage of the disease.
The movement of fluazinam after spraying the leaves with fluazinam was observed through isotope tracking and other experimental methods. It was found that fluazinam has strong permeability, and the active ingredients can pass through the epidermal cells of the leaves and enter the outer palisade tissue and sponge tissue to form a protective layer with concentrated drug effects.

Compared with compounds with strong systemic properties, fluazinam has a higher drug efficacy utilization rate.

For example, metalaxyl and dimethomorph, which have strong systemic properties, can be absorbed into the ducts and sieve tubes after leaf spraying, and are transported to other parts of the plant with water and organic matter. Although they have a good therapeutic effect, the drug efficacy is quickly diluted and the duration is short. Moreover, under the stimulation of low-concentration drugs, pathogens are more likely to develop drug resistance.

Therefore, fluazinam accumulates in the outer layer of leaves to form a super protective layer, which not only slows down the dilution and decomposition of the drug effect, but also has a longer lasting effect (10-14 days) and is resistant to rain erosion.

Fluazinam has a strong contact killing effect and has been listed as a disaster relief agent. It blocks the production, germination, infection and growth of mycelium of spores and exerts its efficacy on all growth stages of the pathogen.

The disease prevention effect is significantly higher than that of conventional protective fungicides, while inhibiting the breakthrough of the invaded mycelium and effectively preventing the expansion of lesions.

4. Broad fungicide spectrum, both ground spraying and soil treatment

Fluazinam has good effects on both higher and lower fungi, and can effectively prevent downy mildew, gray mold, sclerotinia, anthracnose, root root, sudden wilt, and scab and black spot on fruit trees.

Among them, it is particularly effective against blight, root root and gray mold.
Fluazinam has very good soil stability. It can still maintain high activity after encountering soil, and has a long half-life, which is suitable for various forms of soil treatment.

Fluazinam also has good effects on other root diseases (such as sclerotinia, potato tuber rot, etc.). Therefore, fluazinam is an ideal broad-spectrum fungicide that combines ground spraying and soil treatment.

5. It has a mite-killing effect.

The control mechanism is to block the energy synthesis of mites, and it has a preventive effect on both adults and eggs of red spiders. It is officially registered as a mite-killing agent in the United States, Taiwan, China, and other places, and is used for the control of red spiders on citrus, apples and other fruit trees.
The agent has good permeability, strong contact killing effect, no systemic conduction effect, and has a killing effect on red spiders in all periods, and red spiders have low resistance.
