Imidacloprid 200g/L SL offers a different approach. As a soluble liquid formulation, it is rapidly absorbed by rice leaves and stems, then translocated to new tillers and the plant base where planthoppers feed. Within 24 hours of application, feeding stops. Within 48 hours, dead hoppers float on the water surface. The product retains activity for 15-25 days, covering the critical tillering to heading stages. Unlike emulsifiable concentrates, this SL formulation leaves no oil stains on rice leaves and mixes cleanly with common paddy herbicides and fungicides. Products Applications
BPH at 5-10 per hill (early warning): Apply 300 ml per hectares diluted in 30 liters of water. Target the lower canopy using a fan nozzle.
BPH at 20+ per hill (outbreak): Increase to 30 ml per mu in 40 liters of water. Add a non-ionic wetter for better penetration.
Rice nursery boxes: Apply 10 ml per 100 square meters 3-5 days before pulling seedlings. This protects the first 2-3 weeks after transplanting.
Aerial application (helicopter or drone): Use 25 ml per mu in 15-20 liters of water per hectare. Avoid spraying if wind exceeds 10 km/h.
Tank-mix with fungicide: For combined planthopper and sheath blight control, mix 300 ml imidacloprid with 600 ml of validamycin or 300 g of hexaconazole per hectares.
Precautions
Pollinator warning: Highly toxic to honeybees. Do not apply within 1 km of apiaries or to flowering rice if wild bees are foraging.
Aquatic toxicity: Toxic to fish and shrimp. Do not drain treated paddy water into ponds, rivers, or aquaculture systems for 48 hours after application.
Silkworm buffer: Highly toxic to silkworms. Maintain a 100-meter buffer from mulberry orchards.
Pre-harvest interval: 7 days for rice (check local registration as some regions require 14 days).
Resistance management: Do not apply more than twice per rice season. Rotate with pymetrozine, buprofezin, or etofenprox.
Storage: Keep in original container, away from direct sunlight and temperatures above 40°C. Shelf life: 2 years.
