Solubility: The solubility of dinotefuran in water is 39.8 g/L, and its solubility in organic solvents is relatively low, such as 9.0×10-6 g/L in hexane and 7.2×10-2 g/L in xylene, 0.15 g/L in toluene, 11 g/L in dichloromethane, 58 g/L in acetone, 57 g/L in methanol, 19 g/L in ethanol, and 5.2 g/L in ethyl acetate.
Toxicity: Dinotefuran is very safe for mammals. Its acute oral LD50 is 2450 mg/kg for male rats and 2275 mg/kg for female rats; 2840 mg/kg for male mice and 2000 mg/kg for female mice. For rats, acute percutaneous LD50>2000mg/kg (female and male). No teratogenic, carcinogenic or mutagenic properties. Dinotefuran is also safe for aquatic life. Fish poisoning tests show that dinotefuran is >1000 mg/L for carp nm (48 h) and >1000 mg/L for water fleas. Similarly, dinotefuran has very low toxicity to birds, with an acute oral LD50 of quail > 1000mg/kg. Tests on bees have shown that dinotefuran is safe for bees and does not affect bees' nectar collection.
