Thiamethoxam is a new type of neonicotinoid insecticide characterized by high efficiency, low toxicity, and a broad insecticidal spectrum. It possesses excellent systemic conductivity, allowing it to be rapidly absorbed by crops and transported to all parts of the plant. It effectively controls sucking pests such as aphids and planthoppers. When used for seed treatment or soil application, its residual effect can last for more than 90 days.

Thiamethoxam exhibits strong systemic conductibility. After application, it can be quickly absorbed by the roots, stems, and leaves of plants and translocated throughout the plant. Within the crop, it metabolizes into clothianidin, which has even higher insecticidal activity, while also demonstrating a degree of permeability.

Long Residual Period: Thiamethoxam shows good stability in soil and plant tissues, remaining in the plant for a long time with extended biological activity. Soil Treatment: Before sowing crops like wheat, corn, and peanuts during soil preparation, apply 2–3 kg of 2% Thiamethoxam Granules per unit area, mixed thoroughly with organic fertilizer, and broadcast evenly before tilling. Alternatively, before transplanting seedlings of cucumber, tomato, watermelon, etc., apply 1–2 kg of 2% Thiamethoxam Granules mixed with organic fertilizer in holes or furrows, blending well with the soil before planting. This effectively kills underground pests (grubs, mole crickets, wireworms, cutworms) and prevents damage from above-ground pests (aphids, thrips, whiteflies, small brown planthoppers).

Root Drenching at Transplanting: During the seedling stage, drench the nursery bed with a 2000-fold dilution of 30% Thiamethoxam SC (Suspension Concentrate). Alternatively, apply the solution to irrigate the roots during transplanting along with the initial watering, then cover with soil. This effectively prevents damage from both underground and various above-ground pests.

For foliar spraying, after preparing the solution, ensure it is sprayed evenly on both sides of the leaves, tender shoots, flower buds, and fruit stalks. Pests like aphids, thrips, and psyllids love to hide in these concealed spots; incomplete coverage means wasted effort.

Timing of Spraying: Choose either early morning after the dew has dried or late afternoon before sunset, avoiding the high temperatures and intense sunlight at noon. High temperatures not only cause the solution to evaporate rapidly but can also easily burn tender shoots.
