Recently, Albaugh will launch the soybean insecticide Afiado (acetamiprid + bifenthrin) in Brazil. This new solution is highly effective in controlling soybean stink bugs, which are considered a difficult pest to control throughout the harvest.

Albaugh said that the product has a strong knockdown effect and a long-lasting effect, which will not unbalance the population of mites and other natural enemies of stink bugs, and can also effectively kill whiteflies.
Afiado works through contact, ingestion and tarsal contact. Compared with products with the same composition sold on the market, it adopts a new dosage form, namely liquid dosage, which meets the expectations of farmers, which is more modern and easier to configure dosage, handling and application. Albaugh said the solution avoids physical and chemical incompatibility issues, is odorless and simplifies handling logistics.
Stink bugs are one of the most damaging potential pests to oilseed crops. It is a silent insect and must be monitored from planting onwards. When an infestation is present, especially in soybean pods, the kernels do not develop properly. The resulting yield loss can exceed 30%.
As part of a multi-pronged effort to introduce the Afiado insecticide, Albaugh published research on the difficult-to-control pests of oilseed crops, Piezodorus guildini and Euchistus heroos. The trial covered assessments 1 to 10 days after application of Afiado and other insecticides, with intervals of 4 and 7 days after application. The results showed that Afiado was 70% to 87.5% effective in controlling green stink bugs, while the control product had a maximum control effect of 85%. Afiado was 68% to 80% effective in controlling brown stink bugs, compared with 75% for the control product.
Another insecticide technology launched by Albaugh, Krypto (methomyl + bifenthrin), combined can greatly improve the effectiveness of oil crop growers in controlling stink bugs and caterpillars.
