Andermatt Poland has partnered with HR Smolice to provide growers with solutions to the cold and wet weather in spring. HR Smolice is a Polish breeding company and exports to EU countries. HR Smolice owns Poland's largest corn business, accounting for 20% of the country's market share. The result of this collaboration is the launch of Rhizo Seeds, treated with RhizoVital C5 (Bacillus atrophaeus).
Both large and small-scale plot trials have demonstrated that plants treated with RhizoVital C5 are more resistant to abiotic stress. All seeds received seed treatment (20g/l metalaxyl, 100g/l prothioconazole) + polymer. In addition, additional 1ml, 2ml and 3ml of RhizoVital C5 were applied per 1kg of seeds. After seed treatment, germination, root system, and overall plant development are monitored weekly.

Judging from initial germination, the root system and overall development of the plants were significantly improved compared to the control group, providing advantages in the spring and subsequent growing conditions in the presence of lengthy and multiple stresses. The effects of RhizoVital C5 on plant development are manifested in higher plant vigor and increased yields. Crops treated with 3 mL of RhizoVital C5 per kilogram of seed increased yield by nearly 7 kilograms per 7.5 square meter plot compared to the control group.
Furthermore, in plots treated with RhizoVital C5, it was observed that plants remained green longer. Initial silage testing results show higher fresh weight and slightly higher dry matter content.

HR Smolice will conduct additional trials in 2024 to provide additional data on corn, winter wheat, soybeans and spring barley.
