Certis Belchim Launches Natural Insecticide/miticide Neudosan

Recently, Certis Belchim announced the launch of Neudosan, a new natural broad-spectrum insecticide/acaricide in Europe. This product contains a variety of potassium salts/fatty acid compounds (C7-C18) extracted from rapeseed. It has multiple effects and is suitable for ornamental crops and many crops grown in open fields and protected areas.

Neudosan is a contact agent with no systemic or conductive effects. Its mechanism of action is to affect the skin cell structure or exoskeleton of pests and spider mites at all stages of development from egg to adult, destroy respiratory organs, and hinder oxygen absorption. This causes the pests to suffocate and die within a short period of time, with initial results visible within a few hours.

This product has a broad and rapid effect on sucking pests such as thrips, aphids, mealybugs, scale insects, whiteflies, spider mites and pear psyllids at any stage of development. Pests and spider mites will not become resistant to Neudosan, and biological control agents and pollinating insects will not be affected. Therefore, Neudosan is suitable for integrated pest management programs and can play a key role in resistance management as a basic agent and an alternative agent.

Neudosan is a water-soluble liquid that remains stable and transparent over a wide temperature range, making it different from other agents with similar effects but different formulations, which can become cloudy and stratify at low temperatures. In addition, the product reduces the surface tension of the spray liquid, thereby acting like a super wetting agent. When mixed with other agents, there is no need to use special (super) wetting agents. Certis Belchim says it is a user-friendly product with few restrictions and can be used out of the box.

Neudosan can be mixed with most plant protection products, but does not include products containing aluminum ethylphosphonate, sulfur and metal ions (such as zinc, copper and iron), nor can it be applied with pH-sensitive agents and foliar fertilizers.

Currently, Neudosan has been on the market in countries surrounding the Netherlands for some time, but has not yet been authorized by the Netherlands. Neudosan is an essential addition as the number of currently approved insecticides/miticides continues to decrease and the scope of use of existing resources is often limited.
