Vittia Launches New Bioinsecticide in Brazil, Containing Unique Strain Of Cordyceps Javanica BV14

Brazilian biotechnology company Vittia recently launched a new bioinsecticide IZATURBO at Agrishow 2024, a large agricultural exhibition in Brazil.

This product contains a unique strain of entomopathogenic fungus: Cordyceps javanica BV14. Vittia said the product's ingredients are effective against major pests such as whitefly, citrus psyllid and Spodoptera Frugiperda. The active ingredients infect pests through the cuticle or ingestion, plus penetrate into the respiratory system to ensure rapid and full effectiveness.

According to Vittia, product development utilizes leading technologies to meet the growing demand for sustainable products. The ingredients used in IZATURBO will not leave harmful residues in food or cause pollution to the environment.

Vittia has Latin America's largest biofactory, located in the Brazilian state of São Paulo, where the company has two more plants and more facilities spread across the country. In addition, the 100% Biovittia project carried out by the company encourages the use of biopesticides as an alternative to chemical pesticides, achieving excellent results in this field, producing healthier agricultural products, and promoting sustainable development of agriculture.

In 2023, Vittia's net revenue was 756.1 million reais, of which biological products performed well, growing by 9.9%. The company invests approximately 2.2% of net income in R&D and has more than 250 ongoing projects. About 37% of these projects focus on the development of innovative biopesticides, a field with a market size of more than 4 billion reais in Brazil.
