Flonicamid is a novel, low-toxicity pyridine amide insect growth regulator. When aphids and other piercing-sucking pests ingest plant sap containing Flonicamid, they are prevented from sucking sap within minutes, their stylets cannot penetrate the plant tissue, and they produce no excrement within an hour, ultimately dying from starvation.
Key Features
Flonicamid is a novel pyridine amide insecticide that, in addition to contact and stomach poison effects, also possesses excellent neurotoxicity, good penetration, and rapid antifeedant effects. It can be absorbed through the roots and quickly penetrates to the stems and leaves, resulting in a "killing from the start" effect. After ingesting the pesticide, pests are rapidly prevented from sucking sap, causing their stylets to be unable to penetrate the plant tissue, leading to death.
Applicable Crops
Flonicamid can be used on a wide variety of crops including apples, pears, peaches, plums, strawberries, cucumbers, melons, watermelons, gourds, cabbages, tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, potatoes, mustard greens, spinach, lettuce, beans, celery, wheat, corn, cotton, citrus fruits, sunflowers, tea, and ornamental plants.
Target Pests
Primarily used to control various aphids, greenhouse whiteflies, tobacco whiteflies, tea green leafhoppers, brown planthoppers, and various thrips.
