Paclobutrazol is a plant growth regulator and fungicide, a plant growth retardant, also called an inhibitor. It can increase the content of chlorophyll, protein and nucleic acid in plants, reduce the content of red toxins and indoleacetic acid, increase the release of ethylene, increase resistance to lodging, drought, cold and disease, increase yield, improve quality and improve economic benefits. It is low toxic to humans, livestock, poultry and fish, and plays an important role in increasing yield and improving quality in vegetable production.

1. Cultivate strong seedlings
When vegetables such as eggplants and melons grow leggy in seedlings, 50 to 60 kg of 200 to 400 ppm of liquid can be sprayed per mu at the 2 to 4 leaf stage to prevent the production of "tall seedlings" and breed short and strong seedlings. For example, when raising cucumber seedlings, spraying or watering with 20 mg/L paclobutrazol liquid at the 1 leaf and 1 heart stage in the plug tray can improve the quality of seedlings and breed short and strong seedlings.
When raising pepper seedlings, spray with 5-25 mg/L paclobutrazol solution when the seedlings are at the 3-4 leaf stage to cultivate strong seedlings. When raising tomato seedlings, spray with 10-50 mg/L paclobutrazol solution when the seedlings are at the 2-3 leaf stage to dwarf the plants and prevent leggy growth.
When autumn tomatoes are at the 3-leaf stage, spray with 50-100 mg/L paclobutrazol solution to cultivate strong seedlings.
In tomato seedling trays, spray with 10 mg/L paclobutrazol solution when the seedlings have 3 leaves and 1 heart.
When raising eggplant seedlings, spray with 10-20 mg/L paclobutrazol solution when the seedlings have 5-6 leaves to dwarf the seedlings and prevent leggy growth.
When raising cabbage seedlings, spray with 50-75 mg/L paclobutrazol when the seedlings have 2 leaves and 1 heart to make the seedlings grow strong and cultivate them into short and strong seedlings.
2. Control leggy growth
Before planting peppers, soak the roots with 100 mg/L paclobutrazol solution for 15 minutes before transplanting. Spray with 25 mg/L or 50 mg/L paclobutrazol solution about 7 days after planting. Spray with 100-200 mg/L paclobutrazol solution when the growth is too vigorous in the middle stage, which can achieve the effect of dwarfing plants and preventing leggy growth.
Spraying green beans with 50-75 mg/L paclobutrazol solution in the early stage of growth can improve the group structure, enhance photosynthesis, and prevent leggy growth, thereby increasing the number of main stem inflorescences by 5%-10% and the pod setting rate by about 20%.
Spraying edamame with 50-75 mg/L paclobutrazol solution when it has 5-6 leaves can make its stems thick, shorten internodes, promote branching, and grow steadily without leggy growth.
When the height of Chinese toon is 40-50 cm, spray it with 300 mg/L paclobutrazol solution from early August to early September, spray once every 10 days, and spray 2-3 times in a row to control vigorous growth.
Spray tomatoes with 25 mg/L paclobutrazol solution about 7 days after transplanting seedlings; spray with 75 mg/L paclobutrazol solution after seedlings have recovered, both of which can prevent leggy growth and promote plant dwarfing.
Spray purple moss with 200 mg/L paclobutrazol solution at the 3-leaf stage to control leggy growth and increase yield by about 26%.
3. Increase yield
During the seedling stage or vigorous growth period of root, stem and leaf vegetables, spray 50 kg of 200-300 ppm paclobutrazol solution per mu, which can promote thickening of vegetable leaves, shortening of internodes, sturdiness of plants, improve quality and increase yield. For example, before picking cucumbers, spraying with 400 mg/L paclobutrazol solution can increase the yield by about 20%~25%.
Spraying with 100 mg/L paclobutrazol solution in the 4-leaf stage of greenhouse autumn cucumbers can shorten the internodes, make the plant compact, and thicken the stems. It can also enhance the resistance to powdery mildew and downy mildew, improve the cold resistance, increase the fruit setting rate, and increase the yield by about 20%.
Spraying the cabbage with 50~100 mg/L paclobutrazol solution in the 3~4 leaf stage can dwarf the plants and increase the seed collection by about 10%~20%.
When radish has 3 to 4 true leaves, spraying with 45 mg/L paclobutrazol solution can enhance resistance and reduce the incidence rate; during the fleshy root formation period, spraying with 100 mg/L paclobutrazol solution can inhibit the plant's excessive growth and bolting, make the plant's leaves greener, and make the leaves short and upright, enhance photosynthesis, and promote the transport of photosynthetic products to the fleshy roots, which can increase production by 10% to 20%, and can also prevent heart failure and improve commercial quality.
Spraying edamame with 100 to 200 mg/L paclobutrazol solution from the beginning to the peak flowering period can increase effective branches, effective pods and pod weight, and increase production by about 20%. When the vines of yam climb to the top of the rack, spray with 200 mg/L paclobutrazol solution. If the growth is too vigorous, spray once every 5 to 7 days, and spray 2 to 3 times in a row, which can inhibit the growth of stems and leaves, promote the germination of side branches, the development of flower buds, and the expansion of tubers, and increase production by about 10%.
4. Promote early fruiting
Excessive application of nitrogen fertilizers in vegetable fields, or insufficient light under large shade, or high humidity at night in protected areas, etc., often cause excessive growth of vegetable stems and leaves, affecting reproductive growth and fruiting. 50 kg of 200ppm solution can be sprayed per mu to prevent excessive growth of stems and leaves, promote reproductive growth and early fruiting. During the formation period of fleshy roots, spraying 100-150 mg/L of paclobutrazol solution on the leaves, 30-40 liters per mu, can control the growth of the aboveground part and promote the hypertrophy of fleshy roots. Pay attention to the accurate concentration of the drug and the uniform spraying. Promote fruit ripening. After sufficient fruiting, spraying with 500 mg/L of paclobutrazol solution can inhibit vegetative growth and promote fruit ripening.
Precautions
Strictly control the amount of drug used and the appropriate time for drug use. If the whole plant is sprayed, in order to increase the adhesion of the solution, an appropriate amount of neutral laundry detergent can be added to the solution. If the dosage is too large and the concentration is too high, resulting in inhibition of crop growth, you can increase the application of quick-acting fertilizers, or use gibberellin (920) to alleviate the situation, use 0.5 to 1 gram per mu and spray with 30 to 40 kilograms of water.
