Chlorpyrifos

Action characteristics

Broad-spectrum organophosphorus insecticide and acaricide, with contact, stomach poison and fumigation effects, no systemic effect. Mainly inhibits acetylcholinesterase in pests, causes acetylcholine accumulation, affects nerve conduction and causes spasms, paralysis and death of the insect body.

Control target

It is suitable for pest control on crops such as cotton, rice, wheat, corn, soybean, peanut, sugarcane, fruit trees, tea trees, etc. It has a good control effect on a variety of chewing and sucking mouthparts pests and underground pests, such as cotton aphids, cotton spiders, cotton bollworms, rice planthoppers, rice leafhoppers, wheat armyworms, corn borers, cabbage worms, diamondback moths, leafminers, tea caterpillars, citrus leaf moths, root maggots, mole crickets, grubs, cutworms, etc.

Usage

(1) To control cotton aphids, use 50 mL of 48% chlorpyrifos EC per mu and add 40 kg of water for spraying during the rising insect population stage; to control cotton spider mites, use 50-75 mL of 48% chlorpyrifos EC per mu during the adult stage, add water and spray evenly, and apply the medicine twice; to control cotton bollworms and pink bollworms, use 150 mL of 48% chlorpyrifos EC per mu and add water for spraying during the peak egg-laying period.

(2) To control rice planthoppers and rice leafhoppers, use 100 mL of 48% chlorpyrifos EC per mu and add water for spraying during the peak nymph outbreak period. To control rice leaf rollers, use 50 mL of 48% chlorpyrifos EC per mu and add water for spraying during the peak outbreak period of early larvae; to control rice thrips and rice gall midges, use 50 mL of 48% chlorpyrifos EC per mu and add water for spraying during the initial peak outbreak period.

(3) To control wheat armyworm, spray the insecticide when the larvae are young. Generally, use 60-80 mL of 40% EC per mu and dilute with 30-45 kg of water for spraying. To control wheat aphids, apply the insecticide before or after flowering. When the larvae are in the 2nd to 3rd instar stage, use 50-75 mL of 48% chlorpyrifos EC per mu and dilute with 40-50 kg of water for spraying.

To control corn borer, at the end of the heart leaf stage, use 120 mL of 48% chlorpyrifos EC per mu and dilute with water for spraying; or mix with 15-20 kg of moist fine soil to make poisoned soil and apply the insecticide 1-2 times; or use 80-100 g of 15% granules to spread on the heart leaf when the corn is in the trumpet stage.

(4) To control citrus leaf moth, at the beginning of shoot release and at the peak of egg hatching, use 100 mL of 48% chlorpyrifos EC diluted with water for spraying.

To control hawthorn red spider mites and apple red spider mites, use 75-100 mL of 48% chlorpyrifos EC before and after apple flowering and during the peak period of nymph and larvae, and spray with water.

(5) To control underground pests such as mole crickets, white grubs, and cutworms, use 120 mL of 48% chlorpyrifos EC and 15-20 kg of semi-dry fine soil per mu during the pest outbreak period, and apply it on the surface.

Precautions

(1) It is toxic to bees and has a high toxicity to fish and aquatic organisms.

(2) The safe interval for stopping the use of the drug before harvesting different crops is: 7 days for rice, 10 days for wheat, 14 days for soybeans, and 21 days for corn.

(3) Use according to the pesticide safety regulations to avoid splashing the agent into the eyes and skin. If it splashes on the body accidentally, rinse with plenty of water. In case of poisoning, go to the hospital immediately for treatment and inject the antidote atropine.
