Oxadiargyl is a new type of oxadiazole nitrogen-containing heterocyclic herbicide, mainly used for pre-emergence control of broad-leaved weeds in rice, potatoes, sunflowers, vegetables, beets, orchards, etc. It can also be combined with a variety of sulfonylurea herbicides such as benzylsulfuron-methyl and pyrazosulfuron-methyl to form formulations, and its application field is very broad.
Its core control targets include:
1. Gramineae weeds: such as barnyard grass (Echinochloa crus-galli), crabgrass (Digitaria sanguinalis), and foxtail grass (Setaria viridis), especially for 2-3 leaf weeds, with a control effect of more than 90%.
2. Broad-leaved weeds: such as Amaranthus retroflexus and Chenopodium album, but the effect on perennial weeds is limited.
3. Cyperaceae weeds: such as Cyperus difformis, need to be applied from pre-germination to early seedling stage.
The agent inhibits the activity of porphyrinogen oxidase (PPO enzyme) in weeds, causing cell membrane rupture, and brown spots on the leaves can be seen within 24-48 hours.
