What is tebuconazole used for?

Chemical pesticides are the fastest and most effective way to prevent and control diseases. With the great efforts of researchers from many countries, many special pesticides for preventing and controlling diseases have been launched on the market, which have better controlled the harm of diseases and made great contributions to obtaining high yields and harvests. However, due to improper use of pesticides, pesticide damage occurs every year, causing huge economic losses and even total crop failure. Today, I will give you a correct way to use an excellent fungicide.

1. Mechanism of action

This agent is tebuconazole, which is a broad-spectrum, high-efficiency triazole fungicide. It mainly inhibits the demethylation of ergosterol on the cell membrane of pathogenic fungi, so that the mycelium of the pathogen cannot grow and the conidia cannot form, thereby achieving the effect of killing the pathogen. The agent has good systemicity and can be quickly absorbed by the growing parts of the plant and transferred to the top.

It has protective, therapeutic and eradication effects on a variety of diseases. It is mainly used to prevent and control a variety of fungal diseases on crops such as wheat, rice, peanuts, vegetables, bananas, apples, pears, corn and sorghum. However, tebuconazole will also have a certain impact on the growth and division of plant cells, thereby inhibiting plant growth. If the dosage is too large and it is sprayed multiple times for a long time, it may cause phytotoxicity and have a strong inhibitory effect on the growth and development of plants, greatly reducing the growth rate of plants.

2. Main features

(1) Broad fungicide spectrum: tebuconazole can be widely used to prevent and control dozens of diseases such as damping-off, anthracnose, sheath blight, take-all, root rot, vine blight, black spot, brown spot, sclerotinia, head blight, smut, head smut, powdery mildew, stripe rust, leaf rust, large spot, small spot, gray mold, etc.

(2) Good systemic absorption: tebuconazole has a good systemic absorption. After application, it can be absorbed by the roots, stems and leaves and transferred to any part of the plant.

(3) Long lasting effect: Tebuconazole has good systemic properties and can be used for both spraying and seed treatment. After being absorbed by crops, it can remain in the plant body for a long time, achieving the effect of continuously killing pathogens. The lasting effect of foliar spraying is 15 to 20 days, and the lasting effect of seed dressing can reach more than 80 days, and the lasting effect of soil treatment can reach more than 100 days.

(4) Regulating crop growth: Tebuconazole belongs to the triazole fungicide class and has a certain inhibitory effect on the division, growth and elongation of plant cells. When used at the recommended dose, it can control the nutritional growth of plants, promote the reproductive growth of plants, promote the transport of nutrients into the fruit, increase the solid content of sugars, proteins and other solids in the fruit, increase the fullness of the seeds, increase the thousand-grain weight, and improve the quality of the fruit.

(5) Protective treatment and eradication effect: Tebuconazole inhibits the growth of mycelium and conidia formation of pathogens by inhibiting ergosterol on the cell membrane of pathogenic cells, thus killing pathogens. It has the effect of preventing, treating and eradicating diseases, and the disease prevention and control is more thorough.

(6) Good compatibility: Tebuconazole can be mixed with dozens of agents such as prochloraz, difenoconazole, propineb, thiram, azoxystrobin, etc., and the synergistic effect is very prominent. It not only expands the fungicide spectrum and prevents pathogens from developing drug resistance, but also has a more prominent killing effect on diseases.

3. The inhibitory effect of tebuconazole on crops

Tebuconazole is a triazole fungicide that has an inhibitory effect on plant cell division and cell elongation, and its safety is poor. The inhibitory effect is particularly obvious in the seedling stage. If the recommended dose of tebuconazole suspension seed dressing agent is exceeded, the seeds will not germinate. In the seedling stage, excessive concentration can cause the growth of seedlings to stop completely, and the side effects are particularly obvious.

4. Usage

(1) Seed dressing: To prevent and control underground diseases such as sheath blight, stem base rot, and total rot of crops such as wheat, corn, and rice, 10% pyrimidine suspension seed dressing agent can be used at a drug-seed ratio of 200-300 ml/100 kg of seeds for seed dressing, which can effectively prevent and control the occurrence and harm of various underground diseases. 32% tebuconazole suspension seed dressing agent can also be used at a drug-seed ratio of 300-500 ml/100 kg of seeds for seed dressing, which can effectively prevent and control various diseases, and can also prevent and control pests such as aphids and planthoppers, with a lasting effect of up to 80 to 100 days.

(2) Soil treatment: Before or during wheat sowing, use 3 to 4 kg of 2% benzoyl tebuconazole slow-release granules per mu, mix evenly with organic fertilizer or fine soil, and then apply in holes, which can effectively prevent and control the harm of underground diseases and insect pests.

(3) Root irrigation: When planting crops such as tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants, you can use 32% tebuconazole·imidacloprid suspension seed dressing agent diluted 1000-1500 times for root irrigation, and then cover the soil. It can also effectively prevent and control the occurrence of underground pests and diseases such as root rot, damping-off, and white grubs.

(4) Spraying: To prevent and control diseases such as powdery mildew, rust, head smut, head blight, and corn leaf spot of crops such as wheat, corn, and rice, you can use 43% tebuconazole suspension at a concentration of 3000-4000 times, or 40% oxime·tebuconazole suspension at a concentration of 2500-3000 times.

5. Precautions

In order to improve the disease prevention and treatment effect of tebuconazole and reduce the risk of phytotoxicity caused by tebuconazole, pay attention to the following points when using it:

(1) Try not to use it in the seedling stage and before the plant bears fruit.

(3) Try to use it in combination with other pesticides. Mixing tebuconazole with other pesticides can greatly reduce the inhibitory effect of tebuconazole on growth.

(4) Use it according to the recommended dose. Tebuconazole is very active and can achieve good control effects at very low concentrations. Do not increase the concentration at will when using it.
