What is the use of thiamethoxam and lambda-cyhalothrin?

Every year, pests reproduce fastest. If they are not prevented and controlled in time, they may cause serious losses. Choosing a broad-spectrum and highly effective insecticide is the most effective way to quickly control pests. Single insecticides often have many shortcomings. The compounding of insecticides with different mechanisms of action can not only expand the scope of insecticide control and make up for the shortcomings of a single agent, but also have a very obvious synergistic effect. Today, I would like to recommend an excellent insecticide formula to everyone. This formula is Thiamethoxam·Lambda-Cyhalothrin.

1. Introduction to the formula

Thiamethoxam·Lambda-Cyhalothrin is a compound of thiamethoxam and lambda-cyhalothrin, two agents with completely different mechanisms of action. Thiamethoxam is a neonicotinoid insecticide that mainly acts as a contact and stomach poison. It has good systemic conductivity. The agent can be quickly absorbed by the roots, stems and leaves of plants and is transmitted in the plant body to various parts of the plant to kill pests in various parts.

It has a wide insecticide range and a long lasting effect, but thiamethoxam has poor rapidity. Lambda-Cyhalothrin is obtained by removing inactive ingredients from cypermethrin. Its activity is 2 to 4 times higher than that of cypermethrin. It is also the most active of the pyrethroid insecticides. It has a wide insecticide spectrum, good rapidity, and is not easy to produce drug resistance. However, Lambda-Cyhalothrin has no systemicity and has poor control effects on borer pests or hidden pests.

2. Main characteristics

The combination of the two overcomes the shortcomings of each single agent and has a significant synergistic effect. The main characteristics are as follows:

(1) Broad insecticide spectrum: The combination of the two is not only highly effective against piercing-sucking pests such as aphids, thrips, planthoppers, leafhoppers, whiteflies, planthoppers, etc., but also has a good killing effect on dozens of lepidopteran pests such as cabbage worms, corn borers, fall armyworms, cotton bollworms, cutworms, tobacco budworms, cutworms, grubs, wireworms, etc.

(2) Good rapidity: The combination of the two makes up for the shortcoming of thiamethoxam's poor rapidity. After application, the pests can be knocked down within 6 minutes after feeding on the food with the drug, and the pests can be completely killed within 12 to 24 hours. According to tests on corn, the control of fall armyworms can reach more than 98% one day after spraying the drug.

(3) Long lasting effect: The combination of the two can be used for soil treatment and seed dressing due to its good systemic conductivity, and can also be used for controlling underground and aboveground pests. According to tests on garlic, soil treatment with 4% granules can last for more than 80 days.

(4) Low price: Thiamethoxam and Lambda-Cyhalothrin are currently the most widely used insecticides. They are widely used in agricultural production and are very cheap, with an investment of only 2 to 3 yuan per mu, which is easy for farmers to accept.

3. Common dosage forms

Thiamethoxam + high Lambda-Cyhalothrin is an excellent insecticide formula. At present, more than 50 manufacturers in my country have registered for production. There are many types of dosage forms, including 9%, 17%, 15%, 22.5% suspension, 15%, 15.1%, 22% microcapsule suspension-suspension, 16% seed treatment microcapsule suspension-suspension, 4% granules, etc. Farmers can also mix them according to actual needs when using them.

4. Target of control

It can be used to control dozens of ground and underground pests such as aphids, leafhoppers, thrips, planthoppers, fall armyworms, corn borers, striped stem borers, bean pod borers, cotton bollworms, tobacco budworms, cabbage worms, beet armyworms, white grubs, two-spotted armyworms, wireworms, and cutworms.

5. Usage

(1) Use on corn: To control corn borers, fall armyworms, two-spotted armyworms, cutworms and other pests, use 25% Thiamethoxam suspension 8-10 grams + 2.5% Lambda-Cyhalothrin emulsifiable concentrate 20-40 ml at the early stage of the outbreak, add 30 kg of water and spray evenly, the pests can be knocked down in 5-6 minutes, and the prevention effect can reach more than 95% in one day.

(2) To control leafhoppers on tea trees, apple trees, peach trees, grape trees and other fruit trees, at the early stage of the outbreak, 22% microcapsule suspension-suspension concentrate can be evenly sprayed at a dilution of 3,000 to 5,000 times. Alternatively, 10% Lambda-Cyhalothrin emulsion at a dilution of 3,000 to 4,000 times plus 25% Thiamethoxam suspension at a dilution of 2,500 to 3,000 times can be sprayed. This can quickly control the damage caused by leafhoppers and the effect can last up to 14 to 20 days.
