Acetamiprid is a fast-acting insecticide whose main modes of action are contact and stomach poisoning. When used to control tobacco whiteflies, it provides a strong knockdown effect, causing pests to fall shortly after application.

Acetamiprid mainly acts on the acetylcholinesterase of pests, disrupting their motor nervous system and ultimately causing death.
