Pymetrozine is a novel pyridine‑based insecticide. When piercing‑sucking pests such as aphids and planthoppers feed on plant sap containing pymetrozine, the chemical rapidly enters the pest's body. It specifically acts on the muscles at the base of the pest's stylets, affecting their movement so that the stylets cannot properly pierce the plant tissue to suck sap. Even if the pest manages to insert its stylets briefly, continuous feeding is prevented due to impaired stylet movement. After exposure, the pests do not die immediately, but because feeding stops, the damage to crops is greatly reduced within a short time. Eventually, the pests die of starvation over the next 2‑3 days, achieving the purpose of pest control.

(1) Broad insecticidal spectrum: Pymetrozine can be used on many crops, including wheat, cotton, rice, vegetables, and fruit trees.
