Indoxacarb is an organic compound belonging to the broad-spectrum diazinon class of insecticides. It has unique characteristics of action; it is rapidly converted into an N2 demethoxycarbonyl metabolite within the insect's body. This metabolite acts on the inactive voltage-gated sodium ion channels of insect nerve cells, irreversibly blocking and disrupting nerve impulse transmission within the insect, leading to ataxia, inability to feed, paralysis, and ultimately death.
Characteristics of Indoxacarb Insecticide
1. Indoxacarb has a broad control range, effectively controlling various pests on crops such as grains, cotton, fruits, and vegetables. It is suitable for controlling beet armyworm, diamondback moth, cabbage worm, cotton bollworm, bollworm, tobacco budworm, leafroller, codling moth, leafhopper, inchworm, diamondback moth, and potato beetle on crops such as cabbage, cauliflower, kale, tomato, pepper, cucumber, zucchini, eggplant, lettuce, apple, pear, peach, apricot, cotton, potato, grape, and tea.
2. Indoxacarb has both contact and stomach poison effects, effective against larvae of pests at all instars. The pesticide enters the insect's body through contact and ingestion. Within 4 hours, the insect stops feeding and is paralyzed, its coordination decreases, and most larvae fall from the crop, generally dying within 24-60 hours after application.
3. Indoxacarb has a unique insecticidal mechanism, exhibits no cross-resistance with other insecticides, has low toxicity to mammals and livestock, and is very safe for beneficial insects and non-target organisms in the environment. It leaves low residues in crops, allowing for harvesting as early as the second day after application. It is particularly suitable for multi-harvest crops such as vegetables and is appropriate for integrated pest management and resistance control.
Indoxacarb Application Methods
For controlling diamondback moth and cabbage caterpillar, apply 5-10 grams of 30% water-dispersible granules or 10-15 ml of 15% suspension per acre during the 2nd-3rd instar larval stage, diluted with water and sprayed evenly. For controlling beet armyworm, apply 5-10 grams of 30% water-dispersible granules or 10-20 ml of 15% suspension per acre during the early larval stages, diluted with water and sprayed evenly. Depending on the severity of pest infestation, 2-3 applications can be made consecutively, with an interval of 5-7 days between each application. For best results, apply before 10:00 AM, after 4:00 PM, or in the evening. When controlling cotton bollworm, use 10 grams of 30% water-dispersible granules or 10-20 ml of 15% suspension per acre, diluted with water and sprayed evenly. Depending on the severity of bollworm infestation, apply 2-3 times at 5-7 day intervals.
Precautions for using indoxacarb insecticide:
1. After application, there is a period between the insect's contact with the pesticide or its consumption of pesticide-containing leaves and its death. During this time, the insect has stopped feeding and damaging the crop. Timely detection and early control are crucial.
2. Indoxacarb insecticide should be used alternately with insecticides with different mechanisms of action. It is recommended to use no more than 3 times per crop season to avoid the development of insect resistance.
3. Use a two-stage dilution method when preparing the pesticide solution. First, prepare a stock solution, then add it to the sprayer and stir thoroughly to ensure uniform mixing. Spray the prepared solution promptly and do not let it stand for long periods.
4. Ensure sufficient spray volume during application to guarantee even coverage of both sides of crop leaves.

6. Wear protective gear during application to avoid direct contact with the pesticide. After use, change and wash contaminated clothing and dispose of waste packaging properly. If the pesticide accidentally comes into contact with skin or eyes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water. If ingested, seek immediate medical attention.
7. Store the pesticide in its original packaging in a cool, dry place away from children, the elderly, disabled persons, food, animal feed, and sources of ignition to ensure safe storage.
