A Colombian Customer Ordered 5kg Of Indoxacarb 98% TC.

Indoxacarb is a novel sodium channel blocker with a mode of action different from currently available classes of insecticides. After being ingested by insects, it is rapidly metabolized in the fat body, especially in the midgut, into the N-demethoxycarbonyl metabolite, which has stronger insecticidal activity. This activation process requires catalysis by esterases or amidases. Neurophysiological studies have shown that Indoxacarb is metabolized into DCJW in insects, which irreversibly blocks sodium ion channels, leading to loss of coordination, cessation of feeding, paralysis, and eventually death of the target pests. Indoxacarb has both larvicidal and ovicidal activity, and its primary modes of action are stomach poisoning and contact action.

Features of Indoxacarb

Indoxacarb acts like a "disruptor" of the insect nervous system by blocking sodium ion channels and causing paralysis. Its unique characteristics include:

Precise targeting: It is mainly effective against chewing pests, such as cotton bollworms and beet armyworms.

Stomach action as the primary mode: Pests need to feed on treated leaves, and visible effects usually appear within 4–6 hours.

Long residual activity: It degrades slowly and can protect crops for 7–10 days.

Application of Indoxacarb

Vegetable protection: Effective for controlling diamondback moths in cruciferous vegetables, with a recommended dosage of 3–4 g active ingredient per mu.

Orchard guardian: Provides over 85% control efficiency against codling moths in apple orchards and should be applied during the larval hatching stage.

Field crop protection: In corn borer control, rotating Indoxacarb with pyrethroid insecticides can help delay resistance development.

Precautions for Using Indoxacarb

Although Indoxacarb has relatively good safety, the following points should still be noted:

Temperature sensitivity: Its activity increases significantly at temperatures above 25°C, while its effectiveness may be limited in low-temperature conditions.

Tank-mixing precautions: Avoid mixing with strongly alkaline pesticides. It is recommended to apply them at an interval of 3 days.

Ecological protection: It is highly toxic to bees, so use with caution during the flowering period. If rain occurs within 6 hours after application, re-spraying is recommended.
