6-Furfurylaminopurine, also known as Kinetin (KT), is a synthetic, non-natural cytokinin plant growth regulator. As the first substance discovered by humans with cytokinin activity, it holds an important position in plant physiology research and agricultural production.
Application Techniques
Wheat and Rice
Foliar spraying with 20 ppm 6-KT solution during the seedling stage promotes root growth and cultivates strong seedlings.
Apple and Peach
Foliar spraying with 300-400 ppm 6-KT solution before flowering helps retain flowers and fruits, increasing fruit set rate.
Celery and Spinach
Foliar spraying with 20 ppm 6-KT solution 1 hour before harvest helps maintain green color and extends storage time.
Cabbage
Foliar spraying with 40 ppm 6-KT solution 1 hour before harvest helps maintain green color and extends shelf life.
Corn
Treating detached corn leaves with 40-80 ppm 6-KT solution prolongs the time before leaves turn yellow.
Precautions
1. 6-KT is poorly soluble in cold water. When preparing a solution, first dissolve it in a small amount of 75%-95% alcohol or high-purity spirits. The solubility (g/100ml) is 10-100 for ethanol, meaning 10g of 6-KT requires 100ml of alcohol. Then dilute with water to the appropriate concentration.
2. 6-KT can be mixed with other stimulating hormones for better results.
