Certis Biologicals has launched Convergence, a new biofungicide for the 2024 growing season. This cost-effective product can easily help row crop growers prevent and control a variety of diseases.
This powerful biofungicide is registered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to help plants fight soil-borne diseases caused by Pythium, Rhizoctonia, Fusarium and Phytophthora. In addition, the product provides an additional mechanism of action to control tough foliar diseases including tar spot, rust and leaf spot. Convergence contains a carefully selected, natural strain of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens D747, which provides plant protection against disease and improves the balance of soil and plant health.
Eric Luce, Global Product Portfolio Manager at Certis Biologicals, said: "Convergence's flexibility and efficacy set it apart from existing products on the market. Farmers can use Convergence to effectively manage resistance, control disease and improve plant health."
This solution does not affect beneficial insects, benefiting long-term biodiversity and sustainability. Convergence can be incorporated into existing conventional tillage programs via inter-ridge or foliar spraying. The product has no special storage requirements and can be tank-mixed with most synthetic products.
Convergence has been field-tested across the Midwest and has proven to be highly effective on corn and soybeans, allowing farmers to obtain a good return on investment. Shaun Berry, Vice President of Research and Development at Certis Biologicals noted: " Field trials have shown that Convergence helps increase corn yields compared to zinc-based starter fertilizers alone. When applied between ridges, Convergence showed the ability to help increase soybean yields compared to the control group. "
With Convergence, Certis Biologicals provides farmers with natural, innovative biological solutions that are easy to use and affordable.
