Recently, Syngenta exclusively disclosed to AgroPages that it has launched Joiner, an insecticide and acaricide with the active ingredient Plinazolin (Isocycloseram). Mainly used to control major pests affecting coffee, various vegetables, green plants and fruit crops, Joiner's key features are its high performance control effect, fast onset of action and long control period.
Joiner was developed to provide coffee growers with an innovative control measure, with multiple properties working together to provide unprecedented benefits. Examples include quickly stopping pest feeding and maintaining longer shelf life, which can ensure higher quality and profitability for coffee plantations.
Brazil, the world's largest coffee producer, is facing numerous threats to its productivity. Joiner is recommended for the control of two pests, coffee beetles and coffee sawflies, as well as red spider mites and sleeve snake mites, which are the most influential pests on coffee. Syngenta's Insecticide Product and Innovation Marketing Manager said that Joiner is about to revolutionize coffee pest control, enabling a new level of control of coffee beetles, as well as superior control of coffee sawflies and mites, with a broader spectrum of action.

In addition to coffee, this product is extremely flexible and recommended for use on a variety of horticultural crops. Such as pumpkin, zucchini, garlic, eggplant, potatoes, onions, chayote, citrus, eggplant, melons, cucumbers, red peppers, hot peppers, okra and tomatoes. Joiner provides unprecedented control of major horticultural pests, even difficult-to-control pests, bringing more convenience to producers' daily activities.
Isocycloseram is a new bisarylisoxazoline insecticide and acaricide developed by Syngenta. It has the same mechanism of action as the m-diamide insecticide brondiflundiamide. In 2021, Isocycloseram will be launched. Syngenta plans to promote it to more than 40 countries and regions around the world and apply it to more than 40 crops. Its annual peak sales are expected to exceed US$500 million. According to Syngenta, Isocycloseram will set a new benchmark in pest control, especially for those pests that existing products cannot effectively control. It provides an effective solution for resistance management strategies, replacing traditional chemical agents with unsatisfactory results.
