World Agrochemical Network Chinese website reported: On August 8, 2023, the European Food Safety Authority issued document 10.2903/j.efsa2023.8189, intending to change the maximum residue limit of tifloxystrobin in honey and bee products from the original 0.05 mg/kg revised to 0.07mg/kg. The amendment will enter into force after publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
Trifloxystrobin Molecular formula
Trifloxystrobin (Trifloxystrobin) is a methoxyacrylate fungicide developed by Ciba-Geigy (now part of Syngenta) in 1998. According to the agreement, after 2000, it will be developed globally by Bayer AG of Germany. It is a new type of fluorine-containing fungicide successfully developed from the natural product Strobilurins as the lead compound of the fungicide. It has the characteristics of high efficiency, broad spectrum, resistance to rain erosion, and long-lasting effect.
Registration of Trifloxystrobin in EU
In 1998, Novartis submitted an application for the registration of trifloxystrobin to the European Union;
On October 1, 2003, trifloxystrobin was included in Appendix 1 of the EU Pesticide Registration Directive (91/414), and trifloxystrobin was granted a 10-year registration data protection right.
In June 2012 and May 2017, before the expiration of the EU registration of trifloxystrobin, the European Commission extended the validity period of its registration twice.
In July 2018, trifloxystrobin passed the re-evaluation of the European Commission, and its registration validity period was extended to July 31, 2033.
Trifloxystrobin is now registered in 25 EU member states, including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Germany, Spain, Finland, France, Croatia, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Slovakia, UK, etc.
