As resistance to acaricides such as Pyridaben and Abamectin continues to increase in the control of spider mites, Bifenazate has gained growing attention. Bifenazate offers a broad control spectrum, long residual activity, high efficacy, and low toxicity, and is effective against mites at all developmental stages.
Bifenazate Product Features
1. Broad Spectrum of Mite Control
Bifenazate is mainly used to control mite pests on crops such as citrus, strawberries, apples, peaches, grapes, vegetables, tea, and stone fruit trees. However, it is generally ineffective against rust mites and flat mites.
2. Contact Activity with Excellent Efficacy
Bifenazate acts primarily through contact and has no systemic activity. It shows no cross-resistance with most currently available acaricides. It possesses ovicidal activity and a strong knockdown effect on adult mites, providing effective control of all life stages of mites, including eggs, larvae, nymphs, and adults. Mite mortality can be observed within 36–48 hours after application, and optimal control is typically achieved within 3 days. It has minimal impact on predatory mites and beneficial insects and is safe for plant growth.
3. Temperature-Insensitive with Long Residual Control
Bifenazate is not affected by temperature fluctuations and performs consistently under both low and high temperatures, ensuring stable mite control. In addition, it provides a long residual effect lasting approximately 20–25 days.
Bifenazate Application Recommendations
For controlling citrus red spider mites, orange and grapefruit red spider mites, citrus rust mites, and citrus flat mites, apply 43% Bifenazate SC diluted 1,800–2,500 times.
For controlling two-spotted spider mites and red spider mites on apple and pear trees, apply 43% Bifenazate SC diluted 2,000–4,000 times.
For controlling papaya red spider mites, apply 43% Bifenazate SC diluted 2,000–3,000 times.
For controlling two-spotted spider mites and red spider mites on strawberries, apply 43% Bifenazate SC diluted 2,500–4,000 times.
For controlling two-spotted spider mites and red spider mites on watermelon and melon crops, apply 43% Bifenazate SC diluted 1,800–2,500 times.
For controlling broad mites and red spider mites on peppers, apply 43% Bifenazate SC diluted 2,000–3,000 times.
For controlling two-spotted spider mites and carmine spider mites on eggplants, apply 43% Bifenazate SC diluted 1,800–2,500 times.
For controlling red spider mites and yellow spider mites on ornamental flowers, apply 43% Bifenazate SC diluted 2,000–3,000 times.
Tank-Mix Recommendations
In practical applications, Bifenazate is often mixed or formulated with other acaricides such as Etoxazole, Spirodiclofen, and Hexythiazox. These combinations can improve the speed of control, delay resistance development, and enhance overall mite management performance.
