A Brazilian Customer Ordered 3kg Of IBA 98% TC.

IBA is an indole-type plant growth regulator naturally present in plants. It stimulates cell division and tissue differentiation, induces parthenocarpy and seedless fruit formation, promotes adventitious root development, and enhances rooting in cuttings. IBA is not easily degraded by enzymes within crops, allowing it to remain effective for a long time after application. It also has low mobility, enabling precise action at target sites without excessive diffusion throughout the plant.

IBA Indole-3-butyric acid

As an auxin-type compound, IBA mainly functions by promoting plant cell division and adventitious root formation. It is widely used in cutting propagation, root dipping, stem cutting, and seed treatment, significantly improving rooting rates and transplant survival of both herbaceous and woody plants. The commonly used concentration range is 10–1000 mg/L. For example, grape cuttings are often soaked in 150 mg/L solution for 14 hours, while the typical root-dipping concentration for woody plants is around 50 mg/L.

Its mechanism of action involves regulating endogenous auxin activity and altering nutrient distribution within plants. At the same time, IBA can promote fruit set and reduce fruit drop. Compared with other rooting agents, IBA has a stronger rooting effect and produces fine, elongated roots, whereas NAA (Naphthaleneacetic Acid) tends to produce fewer but thicker roots. Therefore, the combined use of IBA and NAA often provides better results.

IBA is not only a synthetic plant growth regulator but also occurs naturally in plants such as potato, tobacco, bean, pea, cypress, and corn.

Key Features of IBA

1.IBA induces new root growth, including adventitious roots in cuttings as well as lateral roots and fibrous roots in crops.

2.IBA helps maintain stable crop growth. When used at low concentrations, it promotes plant growth and can also be combined with other hormones to reduce side effects such as deformity and excessive elongation.

IBA is a broad-spectrum plant growth regulator mainly used to promote rooting and improve fruit set.

IBA Applications

Rooting Agent: Improves the rooting rate of cuttings in both herbaceous and woody plants.

Fruit Set Promotion: Enhances fruit set in melons, fruits, and other crops.

Plant Growth Regulation: Improves plant physiological activity and enhances stress resistance.

Application Methods: Includes soaking, quick-dip, or powder-dipping methods, with concentration and treatment time adjusted according to plant species.

Due to its high efficiency, low toxicity, and broad-spectrum activity, IBA has become a widely used plant growth regulator and rooting agent in agriculture and horticulture.
