Albaugh Launches Clomate™ 3ME Herbicide in U.S.

Recently, Albaugh announced that it has obtained registration for ClomateTM 3ME herbicide (EPA registration number 45002-60) with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

ClomateTM 3ME contains the active ingredient clomazone. Excellent weed control on rice, tobacco, soybeans and cucurbit crops. It can be used for pre-emergent control of annual grass and broadleaf weeds, including millet, crabgrass, barnyard grass and broadleaf signal grass in rice, and lambsweed, foxtail and common ragweed in soybeans and tobacco. Its microencapsulated formulation provides excellent handling and storage characteristics while minimizing the effects of off-target drift and volatilization.

Albaugh, U.S. sales director, said clomazone has been the basic pre-emergent herbicide in traditional rice herbicide projects. ClomateTM 3ME will provide rice growers in the south-central United States with a new alternative to clomazone, demonstrating application flexibility up to the five-leaf stage.

ClomateTM 3ME will be available through Albaugh’s authorized dealers during the 2024 growing season and the product has not been registered for sale or use in the State of California.
