Recently, Argentinian startup DeepAgro released its artificial intelligence-based crop selective weeding technology - SprAI at the Global Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, USA.
SprAI selectively sprays herbicides to avoid unnecessary waste in crop areas. Compared with traditional spraying, SprAI technology can reduce pesticide use by 70% and reduce environmental pollution by 45%. It is estimated that each hectare of land can save US$20 to US$40 in pesticide costs. The product is currently available in key South American markets such as Argentina and Uruguay, and will expand to the neighboring Brazilian market in the coming months. In addition, DeepAgro is also exploring potential commercialization avenues for SprAI in the United States.
DeepAgro said that artificial intelligence is completely disrupting all industries, and agriculture is no exception. The global agricultural AI market is expected to grow to US$4 billion by 2026, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 25.5%. DeepAgro aims to become a leading company in artificial intelligence agriculture in the world.
At the end of 2023, DeepAgro received US$2 million in financing, which will help accelerate the research, development and commercialization of its agricultural artificial intelligence technology and products.
