Recently, Biotrop introduced its bioinsecticide Biokato at the Dinetec (Business and Technology Days) exhibition.
Biokato is a biopesticide containing a new agricultural bacterium, Pseudomonas chlororaphis CCTB19 strain. This product is recommended for use against corn yellow-winged leafhoppers (Dalbulus maidis). It has multiple mechanisms of action and works through contact, ingestion, etc.
According to Biotrop, the Biokato formulation is highly stable and can be stored at room temperature (not refrigerated) for nine months. In addition, the product can be used alone, but is also ideally suited to be incorporated into an integrated pest management program and used in conjunction with agrochemicals.
Biotrop revealed to AgroPages that 2024 is a good opportunity to find new partners and expand business. Company Marketing Manager Éderson Santos said: " We are getting the new year off to a good start by showcasing our key technologies at Dinetec. In 2023, the exhibition's transaction volume will be approximately 3 billion reais, and this year's transactions are expected to be even more. We are here again with our product portfolio to improve the productivity and sustainability of agriculture and livestock. "
Santos also said that Biotrop's range of biological products meet a variety of needs, whether it is controlling diseases and pests or promoting plant growth. The company offers solutions for seed treatment, furrow planting or foliar management. In addition to Biokato, other biopesticides include Biomagno, which is effective against nematodes and fungal diseases, and Bombardeiro, a fungicide with multiple action sites.
