Corteva And Lavie Bio Reached An Exclusive Licensing Agreement For Biofungicides

World Agrochemical Network Chinese website reported: Lavie Bio, a subsidiary of Evogene, is a leading agricultural biologics company that develops new products based on microbiome and algorithm-driven biostimulants and biopesticides. The company recently entered into a license agreement with Corteva, which exclusively authorizes Corteva to further develop and commercialize Lavie Bio's leading biofungicide product candidates against fruit rot and powdery mildew. The two companies previously conducted two years of independent field trials.

Fruit rot and powdery mildew are two of the most devastating diseases affecting grapes, fruits and vegetables, with global losses estimated to be in the billions of dollars annually. Fruit rot pathogens, such as Botrytis cinerea, can damage infected plants after coming into contact with them. Powdery mildew spores, on the other hand, can spread rapidly from plant to plant by wind.
