Recently, Corteva announced that it will provide wheat and barley growers in western Canada with a new broadleaf weed control solution before the 2024 planting season - Extinguish™ g/L + 2,4-D 300 g/L EC).
Extinguish™ XL is a premix containing fluopyridine and 2,4-D as its main active ingredients. This product has multiple mechanisms of action and can effectively control a variety of stubborn broadleaf weeds such as dandelion, mallow, geranium, and roofgrass under different climate conditions.
Extenduish ™ XL has a wide application window and can be applied from the 2-leaf stage until the flag leaf stage. It also exhibits stable herbicide activity even under large temperature and humidity conditions, making it a flexible and reliable choice for Canadian wheat and barley growers to control broad-leaved weeds.
In addition, this herbicide is formulated with two active ingredients to cope with increasingly serious resistance problems, such as Group 2 resistant weeds such as pigweed, chickweed and volunteer canola.
The launch of this product further enriches Corteva's cereal herbicide product line in Canada and is expected to provide local farmers with more complete integrated control solutions.
