Syngenta Establishes Biologics, Seed Health Business Units in Brazil And Launches New Inoculants

Syngenta Crop Protection foresees future trends in agricultural operations and is committed to promoting the development of regenerative agriculture, improving profitability and sustainability, and promoting efficient agricultural development. To this end, its Brazilian company announced the creation of a biologics and seed health business unit. The division brings together the company's expertise in biologics and seed health. The goal is to continue to expand the company's performance in these two markets in a more organized way, building innovative solutions to improve services to Brazilian farmers.

Igor Lyra, Head of Latin America for Biologics and Seed Health at Syngenta, emphasized: "The creation of Syngenta Biologics increases our potential to accelerate the development of bio-innovative technologies, including foliar technologies for above-ground parts, and seed treatment options for below-ground parts. Given the enormous challenges of Brazilian tropical agriculture, our innovative portfolio of crop protection products combined with biologics offers excellent management options for agriculture to thrive while being part of a sustainable development plan. "

In recent years, Syngenta has built a strong global biologics business. This business allows the company to expand its offering of disruptive products such as its newly launched inoculant Rizoliq UHC® Innovation, its first long-lasting liquid soybean seed treatment launched in the Brazilian market.

Rizoliq UHC® Innovation helps increase yields and promote sustainable development of agriculture. The pure liquid formulation containing Bradyrhizobium bacteria ensures efficient nitrogen fixation of soybean crops and makes industrial seed treatments (chemical and biological) possible, with a pre-inoculation treatment period of up to 90 days. According to Syngenta, field trials have shown that its mode of action is critical to plant growth and development, and yields can be increased by approximately 122 kg/ha.

In addition, the company also stated that Rizoliq UHC® Innovation can be used in combination with other chemical and biological pesticides. The product is also known for its low dosage, only 2 ml/kg, which is the lowest dosage on the market. Its technology originated from the pharmaceutical industry.
