Characteristics and applications of clothianidin!

Controlling underground pests is an important task in crop cultivation. The extensive use of organophosphorus pesticides such as phoxim and phorate has not only developed severe pesticide resistance in pests, but also seriously polluted groundwater, soil and agricultural products, causing great harm to people and birds. Today I would like to recommend a new insecticide to you, which is extremely active against underground pests.

clothianidin

This drug is clothianidin, which is a highly efficient and broad-spectrum neonicotinoid insecticide jointly developed by Germany's Bayer Company and Japan's Takeda Company. It has the advantages of low dosage, high activity, low toxicity, long-lasting effect, no harm to crops, safe use, and no cross-resistance with conventional pesticides. At the same time, it also has excellent systemic and penetration effects. It is another new variety that can replace highly toxic organophosphorus pesticides. It can be widely used to control a variety of pests above and below ground.

1. Main features

(1) Broad insecticidal spectrum: Clothianidin can be widely used to control underground pests such as grubs, wireworms, root maggots, and leek maggots. It can also be used to control a variety of ground pests such as thrips, aphids, planthoppers, whiteflies, and leafhoppers, with a wide range of insecticides.

(2) Good systemic absorption: Clothianidin, like other nicotine pesticides, also has good systemic properties and can be absorbed by the roots, stems and leaves of crops and then transported to various parts of the plant to kill pests that harm various parts.

(3) Long duration of effect: Clothianidin is used for seed dressing or soil treatment. It can exist around crops for a long time. After being absorbed by crops, it can also kill pests for a long time. The duration of effect can reach more than 80 days.

(4) No interactive resistance: Clothianidin is a third-generation neonicotinoid insecticide and has no cross-resistance with imidacloprid, acetamiprid, etc. For pests that have developed resistance to imidacloprid, the use of clothianidin is very effective.

(5) Good compoundability: Clothianidin can be compounded with dozens of insecticides and fungicides such as beta-cyhalothrin, pymetrozine, bifenthrin, pyridaben, fludioxonil, abamectin, etc., and the synergistic effect is very obvious.

(6) Various ways of use: Clothianidin has contact and stomach poisoning effects, and at the same time has good systemic properties. It can be used in soil treatment, seed dressing, foliar spray, root irrigation and other methods, all of which can achieve good control effects.

2. Applicable crops

Clothianidin is safe for crops and can be widely used in wheat, corn, rice, cotton, green onions, garlic, watermelons, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, peanuts, potatoes and other crops.

3. Prevention and control objects

Underground pests: mole crickets, grubs, wireworms, cutworms, leek maggots, root maggots, etc.

Ground pests: aphids, rice planthoppers, whiteflies, whiteflies, leafhoppers, thrips, etc.

4. How to use

(1) Soil treatment: Before sowing wheat, garlic, potatoes and other crops, 1 to 2 kilograms of 5% clothianidin granules can be mixed with 10 to 15 kilograms of organic fertilizer and spread evenly. It can effectively control almost all underground pests such as grubs, wireworms, and garlic maggots. It can also prevent aphids, plant lice, thrips and other above-ground pests. It has a long lasting effect and good results.

(2) Seed dressing: Before sowing crops such as garlic, peanuts, and potatoes, 8% clothianidin seed treatment suspension agent can be used for seed dressing at a drug-to-seed ratio of 1500-2500 ml/100 kg of seeds, which can also better prevent and control the damage of underground pests.

(3) Root irrigation: When the damage caused by underground leek maggots, root maggots and other pests in crops such as leeks, garlic, and green onions is serious, 1000 to 1500 times of 20% chlorofluoride·clothianidin microcapsule suspension-suspension agent and other chemicals can be used to irrigate the roots . It can quickly kill underground pests and control the damage of leek maggots and root maggots.

(4) Spray: When serious pests such as aphids and whiteflies occur in wheat, cotton, cucumber, watermelon, peanut and other crops, the whole plant can be evenly spray with 60% pirimid · thiamethoxam water dispersible granule solution 2000~3000 times, or 24% avid · thiamethoxam 3000 times. It can quickly kill these pests and effectively control their spread.
