BASF launches 3 new grape fungicides in Chile

The multinational company BASF has introduced three new grape fungicides to the Chilean table grape market:

Melyra (chlorofluconazole 200 g/L + pyraclostrobin 200 g/L),

Cevya (chloroflufeconazole 34.93%) fungicide,

Serifel biofungicide.

Chile is one of the leading fruit exporters in the southern hemisphere, and table grapes are a very important crop both in Chile and in international markets.

Disease control includes the use of active molecules with good control effects and wide tolerance, and compliance with strict grape destination market regulations and supervision.

Melyra and Cevya are members of the family of Revysol (chloroflufeconazole), a novel fungal molecule designed by BASF for the management of complex diseases, including resistant plant pathogens.

Revysol is an active ingredient different from other demethylation inhibitors (DMIs) on the market, it is the first isopropanol azole ingredient, unique chemical composition helps to ensure excellent binding capacity through its flexibility and adaptability. "This effect provides exceptional control even of strains of phytopathogens with reduced susceptibility to DMI. Furthermore, Revysol's environmentally friendly toxicological properties, complemented by technical attributes, make it an essential component of vine control programs ,” explains BASF.

Melyra, a blend of Revysol and pyraclostrobin, helps to control powdery mildew at the budding stage even when subjected to severe disease stress. In addition, Melyra provides good physiological effects on plant tissues to minimize cold temperature damage.

Cevya is effective in controlling vine powdery mildew and botrytis during flowering. Helps to establish a long-term, sustainable control program and also facilitates the rotation of different modes of action to avoid or slow down the emergence of antifungal strains.

Serifel is BASF's first biofungicide for table grapes based on Bacillus amyloliquefaciens. Serifel has a high concentration of Bacillus and is also very effective against botrytis and acid rot of vines at low doses per hectare.

BASF is convinced that this new generation of fungicides, "enhances the choice of agricultural solutions for table grapes and will continue to focus on delivering innovations that support a sustainable future, thereby contributing to the success of table grape growing and farmers."
