Brazilian biologics company Biotrop demonstrated its new biofungicide Bombardeiro at Expodireto 2024. The product contains Bacillus veleis, Bacillus pumilus and Bacillus subtilis.
According to the company, the liquid microbial source fungicide Bombardeiro is highly effective, has multiple action sites, and can effectively combat more than 25 types of diseases. The company also noted that in addition to its knockdown and residual effects, the product can promote plant growth, induce plant resistance, and help combat fungicide resistance issues.
Cezar Farias, Marketing Manager at Biotrop said, " The market for bioproducts continues to grow and is rapidly adopted, primarily due to two factors: new technologies increasingly meeting farmers' needs, and the spread of knowledge about bioinputs highlighting their benefits and mechanisms of action. We create opportunities for companies and farmers by showing how biological products work and what the results are when the products are used. "
Brazil is the world's largest producer and consumer of biological products. A study by CropLife and S&P Global shows that its market size is expected to reach 17 billion reais by 2030, with a growth rate of 23% from 2022 to 2023.
Farias added, "Given the stability of the national currency and the fact that the country is not dependent on imports, local manufacturing is further driving the development of this market."
