New Bisamide Insecticide To Be Launched Soon: Cyproflanilide

Stem borer is an important borer pest of rice. Due to the limitations and relatively single use of control drugs on rice, drug resistance develops rapidly. At the same time, the existing mainstream stem borer control chemicals are highly toxic to aquatic organisms and have adverse effects on the environment. In view of the resistance problem of rice borer and the environmental safety of existing pesticide varieties, there is an urgent need to develop new efficient, safe, and environmentally friendly pesticides.

 

Isophthalamide pesticides were accidentally discovered during the study of bisamide pesticides. At present, two varieties have been developed: broflundiamide (codename: MCI-8007, MIE-1209FL) and ciprofluberid (codename: CAC-I-785). Cyprosulfluramid is an independently created variety obtained by introducing cyclopropylmethyl into the lead compound broflundiamide. The pesticide registration in China is currently in progress and may be launched next year.

Insecticidal activity

 

Use rice stem dipping method. The insecticidal activity of Cyproflanilide against 3rd instar larvae of Borer borer in Changsha was measured. The LC50 of Cyproflanilide was 0.453 0 mg/L. The activity is significantly better than that of chlorantraniliprole, avermectin, methoxybenzofen and chlorantraniliprole.


The field control effect of ciprofloxacin on diamondback moth is better than the activity of fenfofen, chlorantraniliprole and abamectin at 2 to 6 times the dosage.

 

The control effect 1 day after the dosage of 15g/hm2 is better than that of the control chemicals chlorantraniliprole, chlorantraniliprole and abamectin, reflecting better rapid effect. The control effect 10 days after treatment was better than that of the control agent, reflecting better long-lasting effect.

 

Application

 

Cyproflufenamid has stomach poisoning, contact killing, systemic effects, etc. It is small in dosage, has good quick-acting effect, and has a long-lasting effect. It can be used to control harmful organisms such as Lepidoptera, Coleoptera, Thysanoptera, Hemiptera, Diptera, Fusarium, and nematodes. It has excellent control effect on Lepidoptera borer, rice leaf roller, beet armyworm, diamondback moth, Spodoptera frugiperda, apple leaf roller, Coleoptera flea beetles, Thysanoptera thrips, etc. It is especially effective against stem borer and is a powerful tool for stem borer resistance management. It has no cross-resistance with other existing pesticides and can be widely used in crops such as rice, corn, cotton, soybeans, fruit trees, and vegetables.
