Recently, Brazil's Sipcam Nichino exclusively revealed to AgroPages that it has launched a new fungicide, Pulsor 240 SC (thifuramide), which is registered for use on coffee, chrysanthemums and lawns. It is specifically designed to prevent and treat Rhizoctonia and is preventive and therapeutic.

The fungus Rhizoctonia solani is one of the main challenges faced by growers in today's production processes. Rhizoctonia mainly occurs in cold soil, attacking seedlings before and after emergence, affecting crop growth and uniformity, causing root rot, ulcers and collapse, and may even lead to the loss of the entire tuber crop. The disease is more common in Brazilian potato growing areas.
Sipcam Nichino stated that Pulsor 240 SC is a systemic fungicide containing carboxanilide active ingredients, which has slow translocation, long-lasting residual effect and therapeutic effect. It emphasizes that in potato cultivation, Pulsor 240 SC should be applied in the furrow. Preventive use of Pulsor 240 SC can help potato growers achieve higher productivity and profitability without being damaged by diseases.
