The European Union's Food Safety Authority (EFSA) announced plans to revise the maximum residue limits for deltamethrin in corn. Bayer SAS has submitted an application for this amendment in accordance with Chapter 6 of Regulation (EC) No 396/2005. Following an assessment, the EU Food Safety Authority concluded that short- and long-term ingestion of residues resulting from the use of deltamethrin is unlikely to pose a health risk to consumers based on reported agricultural practices.
According to the Official Journal of the European Union, on July 25, 2022, the European Commission issued Regulation (EU) No. 2022/1290 to amend pyraclostrobin, chlorpheniramine, docetaxel, nicotine, profenofos and beet armyworm nuclear polyhorn MRLs for the somatic virus isolate BV-0004 in certain products.
In June 2022, "Plant Disease" published an online article, French researchers detected Barley virus G (Barley virus G) in local barley, which was the first time the virus was reported in France. The virus can harm wheat, oats, barley and other grains, causing yellowing, necrotic spots, and mosaics on the leaf margins and leaf tips of host plants. The symptoms are similar to Barley yellow dwarf viruses. At present, the virus has occurred in 7 countries including South Korea, the Netherlands, Hungary, Australia, Greece, and the United States.
